   Meet the Wrigleys

John Wrigley

OWNER, WINEMAKER, AND VINEYARD MANAGER

John was raised on the farm and ranch homesteaded by his family in the early 1900s. Spanning 1,200 acres with cattle, sheep, and hogs, the ranch taught him lessons in farming and animal care—skills he now applies to managing his family vineyard.

The search for the J Wrigley Vineyard began in 2005 and ended with the purchase of the estate property in December 2006, followed by two years of preparation and planting. John’s winemaking has been largely self-taught, fueled by passion and curiosity.

His first experience came after college, experimenting with plums and other fruits, later progressing to vintages made from purchased grapes. The 2011 harvest marked his first estate-grown wines, with Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris finding their way into barrel. Guided by his farming roots, John believes in minimal intervention, letting the vineyard speak through the wine.

Above all, John is a family man, and he’ll be the first to say his family makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Jody Wrigley

OWNER

With a lifelong love of wine, Jody met John on a trip to Oregon. From that first meeting, they knew they would not only share a passion for wine but also a love for each other and for building what is now J Wrigley Vineyards.

Together, Jody and John have poured their hearts and souls into developing this family business. Jody’s mom, Sharon, plays a prominent role in the tasting room, supporting the hospitality team. Family is at the core of J Wrigley’s values, and they live this value in every sense of the word.

As it’s often said, “Planting a vineyard and making wine is a lifestyle!” With the help of their dedicated team, John and Jody continue to share their passion with wine lovers, one glass at a time.
